Welcome to my site! HI... My name is Yolanda . I'm a 21 year old female from Jersey. I'm 5'6 and I had a BMI of 53 and after a 102lb lost since surgery my BMI is 36 I'm no longer concidered mordidly obese. My starting weight was 332 lb and now I weight 229lb. After a lot of research I decided to go for weight loss surgery. On Feb. 18th of 2002 I underwent Open (RNY) Roux-en-Y Gastric bypass Surgery with a gall bladder removal at the University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey with Dr. Joseph Kamelgard. This is the weight loss surgery I decided was the right one for me. I had this surgery for many reasons and I've created this site to share my story with you. I want to give an advise to everyone who is looking into this kind of surgery, before you do anything... do your research! the web is full of info about RNY, be prepared, don't let anything get you by surprice. I have always thanked God for being so good to me but after this surgery I have thanked him even more, because I knew of all the things that could have gone wrong and so far I've being very lucky. People, listen to your bodies if it doesn't fell right, don't do it. I never thought about it twice, once I said I'm going to do this (just the night before..., damn nerves playing with my head)

Thanks to my surgeon Dr. Kamelgard, he's an angel. He's so great I couldn't have made a better choise! Thank God I went with Kamelgard not with the other one...
